Marie Curie
The woman radioactive and her amazing life…
She was born on 7th November of 1867,in Varsovian, Poland. Her full name is Maria Salomea Sklodowska.
Her childhood was saddest. She was the youngest of five siblings, but one of her sisters died of typhus and her mother died, she was only ten years old.
His family was amazing and intelligent, she was two daughter of the Professor of Physics and
Mathematics Władysław Skłodowski, and her mother was a teacher too, her name was Bronislawa Boguska, and she was born in Poland when it was occupied by the Russians.
Over time, his family had a lot of financial problems. They cared for children to have enough income.
After, she and her sister entered a clandestine University of Paris, in Soborna. In university, she met her husband, and then she married. She had two beautiful daughters.
After the death of her husband Marie, held her husband’s chair of physics at Sorbonne University.
Between her major accomplishments, She won a Nobel Prize in physics and chemistry, she was modest, so Albert Einstein convinced her to receive the award. She won a Nobel because discovered elements such as radio and polonium.
Something curious is that she almost lost her second Nobel prize for a love scandal.
Marie Curie was not only a pioneering scientist, but she also played a very important role during World War l. She discovered that radiation therapy, and it was amazing, because that could treat cancer.
She died on 4 of July in 1934 of radiation to which she was exposed during her investigations
